Kate McLean Design

ABOUT

My name is Kate. I am a sensory researcher, designer, photographer and a lecturer. I love the process of travel, running marathons in major cities and snowboarding.

This is my research site where I produce work that challenges the paradigm that graphic design can rely on the visual. We have 5 senses... let's use them.

Right now I am working on a Smell Map project of Amsterdam with Bernardo Fleming of IFF and a small research project exmaining the dimensionality of smell as it moves from interior to exterior space with Olivia Clemence, we are basing our study on London's Southbank Centre and are working to exhibit a scale model of smell movement some time soon.

Huddled on the giant adirondack on Cape Cod are Joêlle and me. Summer 2012.
